Job Details

The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting daily financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, vendor statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, schedules, and reports using advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, charts).
  • Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and customer payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in generating financial statements and management reports using QuickBooks.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and physical financial filing systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and budget inquiries.
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance documentation as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting workflows.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis tools).
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online or Desktop).
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
