We are currently seeking an AP Specialist for a temporary assignment with our client, a well-established freight company located in Rogers, AR. This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in accounts payable who are looking for short-term work in a professional, fast-paced office environment. This temporary role pays $15 per hour and offers a chance to contribute to a busy accounting department during a critical period.

As an AP Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the daily financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, communicating with vendors, and ensuring the timely and accurate payment of bills. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with precision and professionalism.

In this temporary AP Specialist role, accuracy and confidentiality are essential. You should be comfortable working with accounting software and spreadsheets, as well as possess the ability to follow established procedures for payment processing and financial reporting. This position requires excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts.
  • Prepare and schedule payments in accordance with company policy and terms.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or answer questions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with other administrative or accounting tasks as needed during the temporary assignment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an AP Specialist or in a similar accounts payable role.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or similar systems is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
