Blender Operator
Location: Springdale, AR
Hourly Wage: $20.50 per hour
Position Summary:
Our client, based in Springdale, AR, is seeking a skilled Blender Operator to join their team. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the Blender Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise blending of concentrates in accordance with customer specifications. This position is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality across all products manufactured.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions of the Job):
Read and meticulously follow blending guidelines outlined in the formula sheet to adhere to company and customer specifications.
Skillfully match color, flavor, and other quality attributes of juice to control standards. Weigh and pump ingredients for batches, and open drums and containers for blending.
Conduct rigorous quality checks before releasing batches for production, including brix, acid, pH, sensory, and color assessments. Make necessary adjustments to batches to meet exacting specifications.
Utilize a computer touch screen to fill batch tanks with bulk ingredients and employ computers to research inventory needs and make batch corrections.
Effectively use hand-held scanners to batch formulas and take responsibility for resolving any errors related to batches.
Perform thorough sanitation of tanks and rooms, and efficiently move empty drums, totes, and bins for disposal or storage.
Uphold accountability for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements pertaining to the role. Be proactive in notifying management of actual or potential food safety issues.
Comply with and maintain all SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements for the position.
Collaborate with supervision to address food safety and food quality issues within the scope of work, demonstrating empowerment and problem-solving skills.
As part of quality control, this role may be required to taste test products as needed, up to a couple of ounces per test.
Perform any other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of manufacturing experience.
Proficiency in mathematics, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Additionally, the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift Certification.
Prior experience in the food/beverage industry.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively.
Strong time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
Possesses credibility and integrity.
Capable of building and maintaining professional relationships.
Willingness and ability to train others as needed.
