This role is pivotal in meeting and exceeding sales objectives by expanding our customer base and promoting our services through professional networks. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll create and implement effective sales strategies, partner with operations, and build long-term customer relationships, ultimately driving sustainable financial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by Example: Adhere to and promote 1st Employment’s policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Planning: Coordinate business meetings with current and prospective customers, maximizing time with clients while minimizing travel.
  • Service Promotion: Present 1st Employment’s services, addressing client objectives effectively.
  • Sales Goals: Set and achieve sales goals, targeting 75 quality sales calls, 3 in-person meetings, and 5 skills marketing calls weekly.
  • Account Targeting: Focus on A, B, and C accounts to optimize revenue, allocate time efficiently, and enhance success rates.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, peers, and leadership.
  • Communication Liaison: Facilitate communication between internal staff and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Service Agreements: Prepare, negotiate, and ensure compliance with service agreements and contracts.
  • Customer Records: Maintain current and accurate customer files in staffing software.
  • Prospecting: Research and cold-call potential clients, serving as the primary contact for new and existing customers.
  • Site Walk-Throughs: Conduct on-site assessments to understand staffing needs and identify workplace hazards.
  • Operations Collaboration: Introduce new clients to the operations team, ensuring detailed job order information is shared.
  • Reporting: Submit timely sales plans, forecasts, and expense reports.
  • Growth Strategy: Develop strategies focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction while monitoring competitive landscape.
  • Event Participation: Attend sales meetings, product seminars, trade shows, and hiring events.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze reports to identify opportunities and recommend improvements to the operations team.
  • Customer Service: Assist the operations team with customer communication, activity follow-up, and complaint resolution.
  • Activity Documentation: Maintain thorough records of all sales and prospecting activities in the database.
  • Branch Coordination: Hold regular meetings with branch managers to ensure client needs are met and proper documentation is maintained.
  • Legal Compliance: Adhere to employment laws and regulations, including EEO, AA, and ADA guidelines.
  • Process Improvement: Provide recommendations to improve company processes, from recruiting to business development.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends through education, publications, and professional networks.

  • Safety and Security: Promote and observe safety procedures, using equipment properly.

Physical Requirements: Able to sit for long periods, move within the office, retrieve files, greet customers, and travel to client facilities.
