Job Details
Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join their team in a fast-paced fabrication shop in Little Rock, AR. The CNC Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Laser machinery to produce high-quality parts to precise specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with shop personnel to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Laser equipment to cut metal according to specifications.
- Review production paperwork to ensure compliance with UL or Intertek certification standards.
- Select appropriate raw materials and load workpieces onto the machine manually or using a hoist.
- Plan the sequence of operations, load programs, and set machine parameters for optimal performance.
- Inspect finished products for surface defects, dimensions, and quality using measurement tools such as calipers and templates.
- Perform quality assurance checks and ensure timely routing of products to the next workstation.
- Log daily production and scrap data accurately.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Shop Foreman and team to ensure materials are scheduled and positioned correctly.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or operational issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies, focusing on safety and quality.
- Maintain production tolerances within 1/32” unless otherwise specified.
- Verify all work products meet certification, type, and gauge requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vo-Tech training or at least 2 years of experience as a Laser or CNC Operator.
- Basic knowledge of laser operation, maintenance, and fabrication processes.
- Competence in using dimensional measurement tools and performing basic math (fractions, decimals).
- Familiarity with CNC programming and shop cut sheets.
- Mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a 40–100°F industrial environment while wearing required PPE.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 65 lbs and perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
