Controls Engineer
Location: Decatur, AR
Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Decatur, AR. The Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in programming, documenting, and optimizing plant-wide instrumentation, controls, and strategic systems. With a focus on computer integration within the manufacturing process and equipment, the Controls Engineer will drive efficiency and innovation across our operations. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Strategic Software Initiatives: Collaborate on plant and corporate rollouts related to plant projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  2. Design and Engineer Controls: Develop and implement controls and instrumentation solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.
  3. Electrical Systems Engineering: Design and engineer electrical systems to support process and utility systems effectively.
  4. Procurement and Installation: Oversee the selection, procurement, and installation of instruments and control systems.
  5. Troubleshooting and Training: Assist in troubleshooting operational issues from a controls engineering perspective and conduct training for plant staff on new systems.
  6. Custom Software Solutions: Develop customized software solutions based on specific project requirements.
  7. Programming and Documentation: Perform programming tasks for control systems and ensure comprehensive documentation of technical designs.
  8. Vendor and Project Management: Interface with vendors, construction administrators, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
  9. Quality Assurance: Collaborate on technical design reviews and participate in contract administration to uphold the highest standards of quality.
  10. Project Management: Manage and execute projects within a fast-paced environment, adhering to cost and schedule constraints.
  11. Safety and Compliance: Uphold workplace safety standards, participate in safety trainings, and report any safety issues or deviations promptly.
  12. Quality & Food Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards, participate in relevant training programs, and uphold the integrity of our systems.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in controls engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and software relevant to controls systems.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on working effectively across departments.
  • Commitment to upholding safety, quality, and food safety standards at all times.
