Job Details

We are seeking a Document Control Specialist to join our client’s team in [City]. The Document Control Specialist will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, tracing, and accepting/rejecting FSQA documentation. This role will support Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Certifications, R&D, and Document Management Systems. The Document Control Specialist reports directly to the VP of Operations and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revise, review, and write policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), one-point lessons, and product/packaging specifications for various departments as needed or at least annually.
  • Collect, maintain, and distribute controlled documents to ensure conformance to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Review documents for completeness, store them in designated systems, and distribute them within legal guidelines and internal standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments such as Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and R&D.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and transparency of all controlled documents.
  • Manage and execute training programs to ensure adherence to the latest policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits to validate document control compliance.
  • Complete customer questionnaires and respond to sales requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Document Control Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in data entry and document creation for quality control purposes.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing setting.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing a document control system, including creating, developing, and writing procedures, checklists, and forms in a food manufacturing plant.
  • Familiarity with supplier management databases and internet research tools.
