Job Details
The Extrusion Process Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining the efficient process of aluminum extrusion. This position encompasses various engineering disciplines including Safety, Process, Reliability, Quality, and Project Engineering within their respective department. The Engineer will also be responsible for Capital Execution, which involves developing project cost estimates, providing project justification, managing contracts/vendors, and overseeing project cost accounting. Additionally, the Engineer will serve as a Single Point Accountable person for at least one Safety Protocol.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical advice, problem-solving, and support to operations and maintenance by applying engineering principles, tools, and skills to solve problems to their root cause.
- Ensure immediate equipment functionality and support the implementation of long-term improvement strategies.
- Review or participate in existing equipment modifications or new equipment installations (capex) and ensure compliance with appropriate engineering standards.
- Develop and implement engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment failures.
- Facilitate the improvement of equipment reliability by reducing failures and turnaround times for planned and unplanned events.
- Lead/facilitate risk assessment and value analysis to make accurate engineering decisions for repair, replacement, or redesign.
- Identify and implement new ideas and cost reduction opportunities.
- Manage contractor activities to support critical equipment repairs or modifications.
- Communicate technical ideas and concepts to support plant objectives and goals.
- Create, maintain, and update equipment files, programs, and drawings.
- Oversee key processes involving the extrusion of aluminum.
- Collaborate with Die Suppliers on cost, inventory, and design.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Metallurgical Science from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform the tasks listed above.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with Aluminum Extrusion.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
