Job Details
Our client in Fort Smith is currently seeking an experienced Machinist to join their team on a full-time basis. This position is for 1st shift and offers consistent hours with a starting pay rate of $16/hour. The machinist will play a vital role in the production process by setting up, operating, and maintaining precision machinery to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components. This position requires strong attention to detail and a firm understanding of blueprint reading and machine setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor a variety of machines including lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and production standards
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and timelines
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a machinist, with specific ability to set up machines
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with various machining tools and equipment
- Ability to work 1st shift hours and every other Saturday as required
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Must be dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
