Job Details
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team in Little Rock, AR. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical issues. This role is critical to maintaining production quality and efficiency, ensuring that all equipment meets or exceeds company and customer expectations.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment by performing regular maintenance, addressing any issues promptly, and maintaining accurate records. Your role will involve proactive problem-solving, promoting good housekeeping habits, and effectively communicating with management to support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation & Safety:
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, meeting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and quality expectations.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Address unsafe conditions and inefficiencies in production equipment.
- Document and process production equipment changes to maintain optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager or TPM Leader.
- Evaluate equipment during maintenance to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Ensure equipment is clean and in ‘showroom condition’ post-maintenance.
- Production Equipment Changeovers:
- Perform mold changeovers on production equipment with minimal downtime, following SMED procedures.
- Verify that production equipment operates safely and efficiently after each changeover.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues as they arise.
- Conduct building maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
- Record Keeping & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system, including parts inventory and emergency repairs.
- Notify the Maintenance Manager or Administrative Assistant when parts inventory reaches a reorder point.
- Training & Development:
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and Senior Operator to facilitate production equipment training and employee development.
- Provide suggestions for training topics to improve team skills and efficiency.
- Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement:
- Promote good housekeeping habits to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in plant teams and activities focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Communication:
- Regularly communicate problems, progress, and improvement ideas to management, maintenance, and production teams.
- Actively engage in personal development through training, continuing education, and goal-setting with management.
Committee Involvement:
- Participate as a member of the Maintenance Staff.
- Join the Problem Solving Team as necessary to address and resolve production issues.
Qualifications
Experience, Educational, and Technical Qualifications:
The ideal Maintenance Technician should exhibit a sense of urgency, accountability, professionalism, and a strong focus on business improvement. A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Candidates should possess the ability to work well under deadlines, take direction effectively, and work collaboratively with others.
