Job Details

Our client is seeking a dedicated Molding Technician/Forklift Operator for their facility in Mayflower, AR. This position is responsible for all aspects of proper thermoplastic injection molding machine operations and related secondary equipment. The Molding Technician/Forklift Operator will ensure the production of high-quality products at or under established cycle times. This role requires monitoring molding machinery during operation, overseeing production levels, and completing required daily documentation. Additionally, this individual must be capable of making necessary adjustments to machines and equipment to improve efficiency and maintain quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and write English proficiently to perform essential duties effectively.
  • Communicate issues with machines, materials, products, or safety to the appropriate representative.
  • Maintain the performance and operation of molding machines, peripheral equipment, and secondary equipment.
  • Inspect raw materials and production levels properly.
  • Use Go/No Go sizing gauges accurately.
  • Remove defective products from production areas as required.
  • Follow and enforce all relevant company policies.
  • Maintain production and raw material inventories using the FIFO system.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and productivity problems, making necessary adjustments.
  • Perform minor maintenance and assist the maintenance department with identifying repair needs.
  • Monitor cycle times, production rates, and oversee personnel in their area.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack efficiently.
  • Record daily production and complete all departmental documentation accurately.
  • Inspect products for defects both visually and dimensionally.
  • Set and pull molds as needed.
  • Work overtime as required or requested.
  • Follow all HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist other department employees as required.
  • Train new department employees when requested.
  • Take a leadership role and provide work-related guidance to other employees.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of molding experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to train personnel on machine functions, setup, molding principles, troubleshooting techniques, and scientific molding principles.
  • Proficient with computers, including directory and file structure, and word processing.
  • Experience with complex mold assemblies (cold/hot and insulated runner systems).
  • Good attendance record preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience and supervisory training certificates are advantageous.
  • Completion of scientific molding principles training (RJG or Paulson) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering grade materials and complex mold assemblies (slides, core pull, rack and pinion).
  • Competency with Excel and real-time systems (e.g., Magi, plant star).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator’s license.
  • Experience with thermoplastic injection machinery and related tools and setups.
  • Experience handling a variety of thermoplastic materials.
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment and blueprint reading.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions and routine reports.
  • Effective communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in basic math up to Algebra, including decimal points.
