Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client’s team in Springdale, AR. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and negotiation skills to optimize cost savings and procurement efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver reports on market conditions and merchandise costs.
- Collaborate with various departments and leadership to assess equipment, material, and product needs, identifying suitable alternatives when necessary.
- Review purchase orders and negotiate supplier pricing to maximize cost savings.
- Analyze market trends and supply availability to forecast future procurement needs.
- Evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive lead times, pricing, delivery schedules, and freight costs.
- Verify purchase orders for accuracy, including cost center allocation, account coding, and required approval signatures.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics with receiving and storage facilities, freight companies, and shipping providers for both domestic and international orders; manage freight claims alongside Project Managers.
- Oversee multiple procurement projects, ensuring schedules are met and deadlines are achieved.
- Communicate effectively with managers across the organization, fostering teamwork and transparency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Lean processes and methodologies; Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar procurement systems.
