Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our client’s team in North Little Rock, AR. This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Quality Department’s daily operations to ensure the highest standards of quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work closely with multiple departments to implement and maintain environmental programs, safety protocols, and food quality standards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee the quality department, ensuring staffing schedules align with production, shipping, and sanitation needs.
- Verify and maintain Food Safety Plans (HACCP), Preventive Controls, and Food Quality Plans as required by SQF standards.
- Provide training for quality inspectors and general employees to ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.
- Conduct performance appraisals and implement corrective actions for quality inspectors when necessary.
- Maintain and monitor records, manuals, and files related to quality assurance processes.
- Assist in executing the facility environmental testing program to comply with customer and regulatory standards.
- Review the approved supplier program, checking for deviations in Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and changes in micro specifications.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, sanitation, and warehouse supervisors to resolve quality-related issues.
- Conduct daily audits to identify safety risks, sanitation opportunities, and SQF violations.
- Oversee the Test/Approve/Hold/Reject/Disposition process for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of materials by collaborating with production and warehouse teams.
- Conduct food safety and quality assurance training to increase employee knowledge and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor inventory and deviation reports for product holds and verifications.
- Assist in plant trials, critical process improvements, and supplier deficiency resolutions.
- Conduct mock traceability projects to verify ingredient tracking and regulatory expectations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Training:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, or a related field (or four years of related experience).
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- HACCP Certification.
Experience & Skills:
Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality leadership, or management.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory testing and supervision within a food environment.
- Technical knowledge of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) quality systems.
- Previous experience with HACCP and SQF compliance.
Preferred:
- 5-8 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality leadership, or management.
