Retail Sales Manager

Salary: $45,000/year
The Retail Sales Manager in Fayetteville, AR is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, with a primary focus on selling a variety of sewing machines and related products. The Retail Sales Manager will lead a team of retail sales consultants, manage inventory, and ensure the store’s success through effective management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a positive attitude and adherence to company culture, emphasizing the ability to find ways to say “Yes.”
Directly manage multiple team members at the specified location.
Plan, direct, and coordinate the distribution or movement of products and services to guests.
Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales quotas and goals, and maintain training programs for retail sales consultants.
Analyze sales statistics gathered by the team to determine sales potential and inventory requirements, while monitoring guest preferences.
Prepare work schedules and assign team members to specific duties.
Oversee sales compensation records.
Execute pricing policies on merchandise to ensure store profitability.
Coordinate sales promotion activities and merchandise displays.
Supervise team members engaged in all store activities, including achieving sales goals, managing physical inventory, reconciling tendering types, keeping operating records, and preparing end-of-day paperwork for the Accountant, as needed.
Prepare inventory orders to replenish merchandise on hand.
Ensure team members comply with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
Address guest complaints or inquiries promptly and professionally.
Greet guests on the sales floor, determine their needs, and provide assistance in selecting suitable products.
Demonstrate and explain the features of sewing machines and related products to guests, answering any questions regarding price and usage.
Process sales invoices using the Point of Sales System.
Exhibit strong sales skills to achieve personal and store goals, persist through obstacles, recognize opportunities, and drive sales.
Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction, respond to inquiries, solicit further sales, and resolve problems.
Maintain records related to sales and quotes.
Examine defective items returned by guests to determine refund or replacement eligibility.
Use computer databases to research merchandise availability.
Participate in physical inventory processes.
Sell service contracts for machines sold.
Perform general retail cleaning duties to maintain a clean and presentable store environment.
Assist in maintaining the demo-ready environment of the store and sales floor.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Carry out manager responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints; and resolving problems as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of relevant management experience required.

Proficiency in MS Office, including email, and familiarity with Google Documents and Google Drive preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position involves working in a standard retail environment with desktop business equipment and telephone calls. The noise level is moderate. The team member will be required to stand and walk for long periods, frequently reach with hands, arms, and fingers, and occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent hearing and talking are required. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and phones, requiring keyboard typing. The ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies and shipments up to 50 lbs is necessary.
