Sr. Accountant

A local and rapidly growing company in the NWA area is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team! This position is a full-time direct hire opportunity that offers a competitive salary range as well as a full benefit package. In this role you will own all accounting duties for multiple entities within the corporate ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.
• Manages the payroll process.
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Performs reconciliation duties regularly
• May be responsible to the oversight and management of other accounting personnel

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar major is required
• A Master’s in accounting or MBA is preferred, but not required
• Certified public accountants strongly preferred, but not required
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance
• Must have experience with QuickBooks
