Job Details
We are currently hiring a skilled Auto Mechanic for our client in Conway, AR. This position offers the opportunity to work in either a collision shop or a fleet maintenance shop, depending on the needs of the operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles—including cars, buses, semi-trucks, and other fleet vehicles. The Auto Mechanic must be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Repair and replace vehicle components including engines, transmissions, and body parts
- Conduct inspections and safety checks on fleet vehicles or collision-damaged vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used
- Work efficiently on various vehicle types including buses, semi-trucks, and standard automobiles
- Ensure shop equipment and tools are maintained in good working order
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and complete repairs promptly
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures within the shop environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred
- Previous experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably in a collision or fleet maintenance setting
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques
- Ability to work on a variety of vehicles, including heavy-duty and fleet units
- Own tools preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
