We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our client’s team in a fully remote capacity. This role is ideal for a professional with strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations. The Procurement Specialist will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, overseeing contract negotiations, and ensuring cost-effective procurement for assigned commodities, all while working remotely.
In this position, the Procurement Specialist will serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and external suppliers. This role requires managing the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier onboarding, market analysis, and evaluating total cost of ownership (TCO) to make informed sourcing decisions. The Procurement Specialist will also lead sourcing teams for medium-complexity, high-value projects while ensuring that supplier expectations are managed and relationships are optimized.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of sourcing strategies, purchasing principles, and business and contract law. They will also maintain expertise in assigned commodities, keeping up to date on new products and materials and introducing them in ways that bring economic value to the company. Collaboration with internal teams is essential to maximize cost, quality, and delivery performance while maintaining multiple reliable sources of supply to promote competitive options.
Key Responsibilities
- University Degree (equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience
- Proficiency in Excel, particularly for spend data analysis and market research
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead medium-complexity, high-value sourcing teams
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, purchasing principles, negotiating techniques, and business/contract law
Qualifications
- Manage supplier onboarding and system integration for assigned commodities
- Conduct market analysis and utilize RFQ/RFI processes to support procurement decisions
- Own the strategic sourcing process, including supplier selection, service level agreement management, and contract review/negotiations
- Serve as the relationship manager for all external supplier relationships in collaboration with internal clients
- Maximize supplier relationships, manage expectations, and build strong partnerships
- Maintain expertise in assigned commodities and manage the introduction of new products and materials economically
- Identify and maintain primary and secondary sources of supply to encourage competitive options
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize cost, delivery, and quality outcomes
