Job Details
Under close supervision, the Cook Room Tech performs a variety of tasks associated with blending approved ingredients, proper cooking processes, and holding. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Weigh and mix ingredients to meet daily production batches.
- Stop production if there are conditions that may lead to a food safety occurrence and notify the Cook Room Manager before resuming.
- Inspect all ingredients for quality and safety before use and report any issues to the Cook Room Manager.
- Lift and dump up to 100 lb of ingredients into cooking and mixing tanks daily.
- Follow prescribed methods and standards to ensure accurate formula adherence.
- Inspect product for quality and safety.
- Operate transfer pump and metering devices according to prescribed methods and standards.
- Continuously monitor machine operation.
- Handle, lift, or transport materials used in production areas.
- Perform minor machinery repairs and operating adjustments.
- Clean machinery and systems on a daily basis.
- Maintain production records/documentation.
- Conduct pre and post operational inspections.
- Preserve the integrity of reworked products.
- Handle, lift, or transport materials in the production area.
- Operate a pallet jack.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Comply with safety regulations.
- Cross-train in other production areas as directed.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
