Job Details
The Sanitation Technician plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of parks and recreational facilities for our client. This Sanitation Technician position is a hands-on, outdoor role that supports daily park operations by ensuring all public areas remain clean, sanitary, and welcoming for visitors. The ideal candidate for the Sanitation Technician role is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically active environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of park facilities, including restrooms, shelters, playgrounds, and common areas
- Collect and dispose of trash throughout park grounds, ensuring all areas remain clean and presentable
- Assist with general grounds maintenance such as mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding
- Support minor repairs and upkeep of park equipment, fixtures, and structures
- Help set up and tear down equipment for events, recreational activities, and community programs
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of athletic fields and recreational spaces
- Monitor park areas for safety concerns, damage, or vandalism and report issues promptly
- Interact with park visitors in a professional and courteous manner, providing assistance when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating tools and equipment
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support park operations
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments for extended periods
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
- Basic familiarity with lawn care equipment and hand tools is preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting required throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Exposure to outdoor elements, including heat, cold, and humidity
