Our client is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead and strengthen all health, safety, and environmental initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive HSE programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting a culture centered on safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will work closely with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to identify risks, improve workplace safety, and maintain environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental programs that support regulatory compliance and company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments while recommending and tracking corrective actions.
- Perform and update HSE risk assessments to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
- Monitor workplace processes, services, and products to identify safety and environmental risks.
- Manage OSHA logs, regulatory reporting, environmental documentation, and required recordkeeping.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and environmental compliance.
- Direct and support the facility safety team while promoting accountability across all departments.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver employee safety training programs to ensure compliance and increase awareness.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, ergonomics initiatives, machine guarding programs, hazardous energy control, and other critical safety programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience developing and delivering HSE training programs.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and related safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience with workers’ compensation programs and incident investigations.
- Strong understanding of ergonomics, machine guarding, hazardous energy control (LOTO), emergency response, PPE, HAZCOM, confined space safety, and material handling.
- Demonstrated success driving accountability through audits, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
