Our client is seeking experienced Material Specialists to join their growing manufacturing team in Morrilton, AR. This is an excellent opportunity for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who have experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or manufacturing. The Material Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring production teams receive the materials they need while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting efficient plant operations.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Material Specialist will work closely with production, warehouse, and purchasing teams to keep materials flowing efficiently throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, stage, and deliver materials to production areas based on production schedules and priorities.
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized.
- Support kitting operations and replenish production lines as needed.
- Keep production areas supplied with the materials necessary to minimize downtime.
- Respond quickly to material shortages and communicate delays or concerns to leadership.
- Assist with managing work-in-process (WIP) inventory.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
- Investigate and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Complete inventory transactions accurately within the ERP system.
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments by verifying quantities and inspecting materials for damage.
- Store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Support material tagging, labeling, and inventory tracking.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following all company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to three years of experience in a warehouse, materials, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Basic computer skills with experience using ERP systems or barcode scanning systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Inventory control and cycle counting experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to supporting production.
