Job Details

Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Auction Listing Assistant to join their growing team. This full-time, daytime position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, learning about unique items, and working in a hands-on environment.
As an Auction Listing Assistant, you will help transform estate contents, collections, and consignments into professional online auctions. Each day can bring something different, including antiques, collectibles, tools, furniture, jewelry, artwork, electronics, sporting goods, household items, and other unique merchandise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort merchandise and determine how items should be grouped into auction lots.
  • Identify items and determine when additional research may be needed.
  • Take clear, accurate, and attractive photographs of auction items.
  • Write concise and informative titles and descriptions for online listings.
  • Enter photographs, descriptions, measurements, and item information into auction software.
  • Document markings, model numbers, signatures, condition issues, and other important details.
  • Research unfamiliar merchandise to help accurately identify items.
  • Organize completed auction lots so merchandise can be located efficiently during customer pickup.
  • Assist with general auction preparation, estate projects, and inventory organization.
  • Unpack, sort, move, and organize merchandise as needed.
  • Work at the Conway location as well as estate locations throughout Central Arkansas.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when working in clients’ homes and estates.

Qualifications

Our client is not looking for an antique expert. The ideal Auction Listing Assistant is curious, observant, organized, and comfortable learning new information.
  • Dependable and consistently punctual.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using an iPad, computer, and web-based software.
  • Able to work independently after training.
  • Able to maintain a steady pace while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong observation skills and ability to notice labels, names, signatures, model numbers, damage, and other item details.
  • Comfortable researching unfamiliar items online.
  • Professional and respectful when working in clients’ homes and estates.
  • Comfortable handling a variety of used household, estate, and resale merchandise.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Able to lift and move boxes and smaller pieces of merchandise throughout the workday.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience is helpful but not required in:
  • eBay, HiBid, online auctions, or online resale.
  • Antiques, collectibles, vintage merchandise, jewelry, tools, artwork, or furniture.
  • Estate sales, thrift stores, resale shops, flea markets, or consignment stores.
  • Product photography.
  • Online product listings or inventory management.
  • Merchandise research and identification.
