Job Details
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer / Planner II to join their team in Conway, AR. In this role, you will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments to keep production on schedule. You will order materials and make sure they arrive on time, track and chart supplier delivery performance, and support the Senior Buyer as needed. This position pays $27.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment and good housekeeping.
- Review and distribute work orders and shipment schedules; work with department supervisors to track progress and completion dates.
- Compile reports on work progress, inventory levels, costs, and production issues.
- Assist with purchasing materials, supplies, and services, and serve as backup to the Senior Buyer/Planner.
- Support inventory management, including finished goods, work in process, and raw materials.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and put corrective actions in place once the problem is identified.
- Ensure accurate data entry and complete all inventory control transactions on time.
- Track schedule attainment.
- Follow TS 16949 / ISO 9001 quality procedures.
- Reconcile work orders and transfer jobs to completed production.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in a related field preferred.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Strong computer skills; SAP experience required.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments, preferably automotive.
- Knowledge of the steel industry.
- Very strong expediting skills.
- Ability to take independent action to ensure on-time material delivery.
- High level of accuracy when providing and reporting information.
- Customer service background is a plus.
