Job Details
Operates CNC equipment and programs laser/plasma machines to produce accurate machined parts. Ensures adherence to engineering specifications, safety standards, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Mill/Lathe equipment to manufacture parts as directed.
- Program laser/plasma machines using engineering plans and machining parameters.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Set machine zero and reference points and verify initial part accuracy.
- Use company-supplied gauges properly and report any out-of-tolerance dimensions.
- Ensure quality management system processes affecting this role are implemented and maintained.
- Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the department.
- Perform and document continuous process improvement efforts.
- Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting issues and communicating status.
- Follow clean-up, housekeeping, safety, and quality procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years CNC machining experience preferred.
- 1 year of programming experience for laser/plasma cutting required.
- Ability to read technical drawings and engineering reports.
- Knowledge of gauge usage, setup, and calibration procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and 3D design or programming software.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and GD&T.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly, stand for long periods on concrete, and perform tasks including bending, squatting, tightening bolts, and pushing materials.
