Job Details

We are seeking a Coordinator/Instructor to support an alcohol safety and education program. The Coordinator/Instructor will work with DWI/DUI offenders, conduct alcohol education classes and screenings, and provide recommendations to the courts regarding appropriate education or treatment programs.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in substance abuse services, human services, education, or a related field who is comfortable working with individuals, preparing reports, and communicating with courts and community organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct alcohol education groups and classes for assigned clients.
  • Screen DWI/DUI offenders and determine appropriate education or treatment recommendations.
  • Prepare written recommendations and reports for the courts.
  • Communicate with clients regarding program requirements and court-related matters.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and their assigned courts.
  • Provide alcohol safety presentations to community groups, civic organizations, and the general public.
  • Maintain accurate client files, records, reports, forms, and correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information.
  • Stay up to date on substance abuse, alcohol safety, DWI/DUI programs, highway safety, and available community resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate referral resources for clients who may need additional services.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other professionals.
  • Assist with planning and developing services to meet community needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other agency programs and support staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, program meetings, committees, seminars, conferences, and training as assigned.
  • Follow agency policies, procedures, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Maintain and properly use agency equipment and files.
  • Complete routine paperwork, letters, reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 years of substance abuse experience in a human services position required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with clients, courts, community organizations, and agency staff.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse, alcohol safety, DWI/DUI programs, or related services is preferred.
  • Ability to attend required meetings, training, seminars, and professional development activities.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to meet attendance expectations.
