Job Details
Our client is seeking a Customer Service team member to provide friendly, helpful service during the busy Christmas shopping season. This is a temporary position supporting the gift shop team from October 1st through Christmas, with the possibility of working a few additional days after Christmas.
The Customer Service role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, staying busy, and being part of a retail environment. Retail sales experience is a plus, and previous customer service experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to gift shop visitors
- Assist customers with questions and purchases
- Make sales and help customers find gift shop merchandise
- Pack and unpack gift shop items
- Tag and organize merchandise
- Stock and maintain merchandise throughout the gift shop
- Assist with keeping the sales floor clean and organized
- Operate the cash register when assigned
- Complete register duties after receiving training
- Support full-time sales employees as needed during the busy Christmas season
- Help provide coverage during employee absences and busy periods
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Retail or retail sales experience is a plus
- Must be friendly, dependable, and comfortable working with the public
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
- Must be able to commit to the entire seasonal assignment and cannot miss scheduled work
- Must be available every Saturday
- Must interview directly with the Store Manager
Important Position Details
This position is intended to provide seasonal support for the gift shop’s full-time sales staff. Because this is a fill-in position, reliable attendance is extremely important.
Employees will not be expected to work alone or perform security-sensitive duties. The Customer Service employee will not be responsible for accessing the office safe, counting opening or closing money, or working with the store’s alarm system.
This is a temporary Christmas-season position, currently expected to run from October 1st through Christmas, with the possibility of a few additional days afterward.
