Job Details

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to load and unload materials, move them within the facility, and ensure efficient transportation to designated areas. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will contribute to the smooth flow of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review production schedules or shipping orders to determine material handling requirements.
  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials to and from designated areas.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks and move them to storage areas or loading docks.
  • Stack goods on pallets or in crates following inventory control guidelines.
  • Ensure that loads are secure and conduct regular equipment checks, such as recharging the forklift’s battery and lubricating equipment.
  • Remove machine attachments and waste materials from machines as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by stacking empty pallets and following safety protocols.


  • Possess good math, language, and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to prevent injuries and promote a safe work environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping accurate records.
  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
  • Must have forklift certification and be proficient in forklift operations.
  • Physical ability to sit on a powered industrial truck, lift up to 50 pounds, and adjust body positions as needed.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures depending on the season.
