Job Details
As a Forklift Operator in Greenwood, AR, you will play a crucial role in our client’s operations by efficiently and safely handling materials and deliveries using a sit-down forklift. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, transporting them within the facility, and ensuring the proper storage of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain copies of production schedules or shipping orders and transport materials to designated areas.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
- Move goods packed on pallets or in crates to storage areas, following inventory control procedures.
- Stack goods in correct storage bays and secure loads to prevent damage during transport.
- Stack and organize empty pallets.
- Perform daily equipment checks, including recharging the forklift’s battery and lubricating equipment.
- Remove machine attachments and waste materials from machines as needed.
Qualifications
- Possess good math, language, and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
- Maintain a high level of attention to prevent injuries and promote a safe work environment.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping accurate records.
- Execute assignments accurately, timely, and safely.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Regularly operate a powered industrial truck (sit-down forklift).
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, turning, and pivoting.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on the season.
