Job Details
As a Freight Claims Administrator and Freight Invoice Auditor, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support for the daily operations of the Traffic/Logistics department. Your primary responsibilities will include auditing freight shipments and invoice payment information against carrier contracts and rates, identifying billing discrepancies, processing and filing freight claims, and ensuring the accuracy of transportation invoices to maintain financial integrity with carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly freight invoices for domestic and international business, including coding, price validation, invoice disputes, maintaining invoice logs, and balancing incoming checks.
- Investigate freight shipments and invoice payment information against carrier contracts and rates to identify billing discrepancies and verify/dispute overcharges.
- Gather information and process/facilitate the filing of freight claims in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule shipments and trucking activities efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Assist with export shipments and export freight documents as needed.
- Coordinate with operational groups and internal/external customers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of shipments and traffic activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase department efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in traffic logistics and working with logistic carriers, including invoice auditing and freight claims.
- Skills: Excellent customer service, email etiquette, attention to detail, LTL/FTL domestic moves experience, and proficiency in MS Word and intermediate Excel.
- Knowledge: General knowledge of Ocean, Air, LTL, TL, or Rail freight contracts, pricing, and billing practices recommended.
- Personal Attributes: Skilled in traffic activities, ability to prioritize tasks, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), mathematical skills, ability to handle problem-solving situations.
