We are seeking a reliable Maintenance & Repair Worker for one of our clients at a lumber yard in Fort Smith, AR. This is a full-time, first-shift position for someone who enjoys hands-on work and helping keep a worksite clean, safe, and running smoothly.
The Maintenance & Repair Worker will be responsible for general upkeep of the yard, including keeping storage areas organized, maintaining clear and safe walkways, and performing basic maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment. You will regularly check machinery and yard equipment, fix small issues, and assist others when larger repairs are needed.
This role also includes helping with loading and unloading materials and following all safety guidelines at all times. The job is physical and requires standing, lifting, bending, and working outdoors in different weather conditions.
This Maintenance & Repair Worker position is a great fit for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with basic tools. Prior maintenance or yard experience is helpful but not required. A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and team-oriented mindset are most important.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on yard equipment, tools, and facilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and storage areas
- Assist with loading and unloading lumber and materials as needed
- Identify and address basic safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures
- Support daily operations to ensure smooth workflow
Qualifications
