Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician to join our team in a clean, indoor food production facility. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of production equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure continuous and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial maintenance and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems used in food manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production machinery including pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, valves, filters, and packaging equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) activities according to the PM schedule and document completed work.
- Communication and organization: ability to keep an organized schedule and can communicate issues, project completions, and updates as needed to interested parties.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (motors, sensors, switches, panels, PLC I/O devices).
- Maintain HVAC, compressed air, steam, and hydraulic systems as needed.
- Ensure equipment is operating within food safety and quality specifications.
- Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and respond promptly to equipment failures.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE use, and food safety regulations.
- Support facility audits and inspections by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance in maintenance areas.
- Serve as a floater across departments as needed, providing support in maintenance, production, and material handling.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently when moving equipment, materials, or assisting production (forklift certification required or ability to obtain).
Qualifications
- Forklift certification and experience preferred
- English speaking and comprehension
- Minimum of 2+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Education – High School diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and have excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with food safety and GMP standards in food manufacturing
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
