Our client in Fort Smith, AR, is seeking a dedicated Production Associate to join their team. This role involves working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, where you will be responsible for various tasks related to the production and handling of lumber products. The ideal candidate should be prepared for fast-paced, physically demanding work, with the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Fulfillment: Efficiently fill orders by loading and unloading lumber onto trucks, stacking lumber on pallets, and banding pallets together.
- Production Tasks: Build skids at a rate of up to 50 per hour, ensuring that production targets are met.
- Tool Use: Operate air-driven tools and read tape measures accurately for precise cutting and measurement tasks.
- Machine Operation: Operate pallet machines, Holtec precision cutting machines, panel saws, and other machinery used in the production process.
- Maintenance: Make necessary machine adjustments and minor repairs as required to keep the production line running smoothly.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Utilize mechanical skills to perform various tasks, including learning basic machine programming.

Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly, and be prepared for repetitive, strenuous work in a fast-paced environment.
- Math Skills: General math skills are required to calculate wood quantities and measurements accurately.
- Forklift Operation: Experience in driving a forklift or a willingness to learn is essential.
- Independent Work: Must be able to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision.
- Collaboration: Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Mechanical Skills: Ability to read a measuring tape and perform machine adjustments is essential.
