Job Details
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to oversee daily production operations within their Seasoning Department in Springdale, AR. The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production line operations and employees to ensure customer orders are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards. This role is essential in maintaining smooth production flow, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for the Production Supervisor position will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment. The Production Supervisor must be able to work in a fast-paced setting while coordinating with multiple departments, including Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Human Resources, and Warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production line operations and production employees
- Schedule personnel to meet daily production requirements
- Plan and coordinate blending and packaging production activities
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and safety meetings with employees
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Implement, monitor, and enforce company procedures and policies
- Train employees on production processes and scanning systems
- Monitor GMPs, sanitation standards, and housekeeping procedures
- Complete daily production reports and schedules
- Attend daily production meetings
- Conduct daily pre-operational checklists and scale checks
- Complete security checklists and assist with food defense audits
- Participate in HACCP and health & safety committee meetings
- Troubleshoot blending, batching, and packaging issues
- Monitor machine efficiency and product quality standards
- Record employee attendance and work hours
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding equipment repairs and issues
- Review and verify employee documentation
- Ensure proper transfer of finished products into warehouse inventory
- Assist with month-end inventory counts
- Respond to customer service and shipping inquiries regarding schedules and order completion
- Maintain inventory lot control and production tracking
- Assist with successful customer, corporate, and regulatory audits
- Serve as backup for the Production Scheduler and Production Manager as needed
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Computer proficiency required
- Knowledge of production operations, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Ability to train and motivate employees
- Supervisory-related coursework or training preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding environment
Work Environment:
- Exposure to loud production environments and airborne spice particles
- Exposure to hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions
- Standing and walking on concrete for extended periods of time
- Climbing stairs, ladders, and working on elevated surfaces
- Regular lifting of 50–100 pounds
- Overtime and extended workweeks may be required during peak production seasons
