The Quotation Specialist is an entry-level position designed to support the sales and estimating function through accurate preparation of quotes, takeoffs, and proposal documentation. The Quotation Specialist plays an important role in helping the sales team build competitive pricing packages while learning core processes, systems, and product knowledge. This Quotation Specialist role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Accuracy and consistency are critical, as the Quotation Specialist directly impacts customer proposals and overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- The Quotation Specialist is responsible for reviewing customer requests, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate takeoffs and quotations.
- Create professional and detailed quotation packages using systems such as Eclipse, QuickBase, and OST.
- Support the sales team by ensuring all quotation details are clearly communicated and properly documented.
- Follow up on open or pending quotations to help secure orders and improve conversion rates.
- The Quotation Specialist will assist in identifying issues, risks, or discrepancies and escalate concerns to supervision when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of quotation activity and ensure compliance with company processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer proposals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the quotations and sales support function.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of related experience preferred, especially in contractor sales, estimating, or manufacturing support.
- Basic understanding of construction or product-based industries is helpful but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to learn quoting systems and software tools quickly.
