We are a staffing agency seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sand Blaster for one of our clients in Fort Smith, AR. The Sand Blaster plays a critical role in preparing surfaces for finishing by removing contaminants such as rust, paint, and debris. This position requires a strong focus on safety, consistency, and quality, as the Sand Blaster will be working with specialized equipment in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and committed to maintaining high standards in surface preparation.
The Sand Blaster will be responsible for operating sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare a variety of materials, including metal, wood, and concrete surfaces. This role involves ensuring that all surfaces are properly treated and ready for painting, coating, or other finishing processes. The Sand Blaster must follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to dust and airborne particles. Attention to detail is essential, as the quality of the finished product depends heavily on proper surface preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces
- Remove paint, rust, and other contaminants from various materials
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain and clean equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and procedures
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sand Blaster or in a similar industrial role preferred
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, including occasional Saturdays
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
