Job Summary:
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and facility spaces using high-pressure washers, chemical foam cleaners, and other sanitation tools. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment and can work in physically demanding and variable conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and odorous environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and facility areas using high-pressure washdown equipment and chemical solutions in accordance with sanitation schedules and safety standards.

• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

• Perform deep cleans in hard-to-reach or confined spaces and at elevated heights using ladders or lifts.

• Maintain documentation and cleaning logs to ensure all sanitation requirements and quality standards are met.

• Assist with the breakdown and reassembly of equipment as needed for complete cleaning access.

• Work closely with team members and supervisors to prioritize sanitation tasks and communicate any concerns regarding equipment or facility conditions.

• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions.

• Support the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, including waste disposal, floor cleaning, and general housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial sanitation or janitorial services preferred, but not required.

• Ability to work in physically demanding environments including wet, humid, dusty, hot, cold, and noisy conditions.

• Comfortable with frequent bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing or walking for 8+ hours per shift.

• Capable of working with chemicals and identifying proper PPE use in compliance with company standards.

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding to clean high or difficult areas.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
