Our staffing agency is seeking dependable and detail-oriented candidates for a Sanitation Technician position with one of our valued clients in North Little Rock, AR. The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment within a food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for cleaning production equipment, maintaining facility cleanliness, and ensuring sanitation procedures meet regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
The Sanitation Technician will work closely with supervisors and production teams to ensure that all areas of the facility—including production equipment, employee areas, and office spaces—are maintained according to sanitation standards. The Sanitation Technician must follow established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and use cleaning chemicals properly to ensure the facility meets food safety requirements. This position requires individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean production equipment according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor or Sanitation Manager.
- Dismantle equipment as needed prior to cleaning and reassemble equipment after sanitation is completed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the flour sifter and assist with sampling flour tailings as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
- Clean production areas throughout the facility to maintain a sanitary environment for all products.
- Maintain cleanliness in employee service areas such as break rooms, locker areas, and other shared spaces.
- Use sanitation chemicals in proper quantities and for their intended purposes while following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines.
- Clean equipment following repairs and prior to returning the equipment to production.
- Clean office areas, including emptying trash, vacuuming, and performing general cleaning duties.
- Maintain office kitchens and restrooms to ensure they remain sanitary and stocked.
- Assist with grounds maintenance and general facility upkeep as needed.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, hairnets, and other sanitation materials.
- Assist on the production line when needed and participate on the safety committee if selected.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain food safety standards at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and write clearly and perform basic math functions.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Ability to understand and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work weekends as required.
- Previous sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
