Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Siloam Springs, AR. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineering professional who enjoys leading projects, improving manufacturing processes, and driving operational excellence. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Product Development, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, optimize production, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will oversee capital projects, manage tooling programs, provide technical leadership, and help develop innovative solutions that improve plant performance while maintaining quality, safety, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple capital projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage the complete capital project lifecycle, including planning, vendor selection, installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Design, specify, procure, and maintain plant tooling while overseeing documentation and drawing control.
- Develop annual tooling budgets by analyzing historical spending and forecasting future needs.
- Support tooling requirements across multiple manufacturing value streams.
- Provide daily engineering support to production and maintenance teams by troubleshooting equipment issues and improving asset reliability.
- Maintain technical documentation, spare parts information, and engineering records.
- Collaborate with global manufacturing locations on tooling improvements, vendor coordination, drawing reviews, and repair solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management experience required; PMP certification preferred.
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, or 8D.
- Proficiency with CAD software including SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
