Pay: $55,000 – $70,000 per year

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant in Fayetteville, AR, undertakes the critical responsibility of applying accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare comprehensive financial reports. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Senior Accountant, exercising independent judgment in routine matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential support to the department, including compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts.
  • Conduct monthly account analyses and reconciliations, swiftly resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations, monthly and yearly close processes, and respond to external audit requests promptly.
  • Reconcile and record daily cash and tips for Food & Beverage operations.
  • Maintain vendor records, credit applications, and certificates of insurance.
  • Research and process unclaimed property and address credit card disputes promptly.
  • Support monthly inventory processes, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards while upholding the company’s mission, values, and ethical standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate guidelines, while enhancing internal controls.
  • Uphold superior standards of customer service.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail is paramount.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university is required.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands:

  1. Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and talk or hear.
  2. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  3. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  4. Required movements include trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry, arm’s reach, and leg-lifts.
