Our staffing agency is seeking reliable candidates for a Utility position with one of our clients in Fort Smith, AR. The Utility role supports the post-assembly department and assists with general plant operations. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and helping with a variety of tasks as needed. The Utility position focuses on non-sewing duties in the post-assembly department while also assisting other areas of the facility when necessary. A successful Utility employee will be dependable, flexible, and willing to help wherever support is needed to keep production running smoothly.
The Utility employee may operate post-assembly equipment such as pressing machines and equipment used to turn pants during the finishing process. The Utility role may also assist in the packaging department when additional help is needed and may operate a forklift to move materials, pallets, and supplies throughout the facility. Another important responsibility of the Utility position is helping maintain a clean and organized workplace by assisting with general cleaning tasks such as restrooms, offices, conference rooms, and break areas. The Utility employee may also organize and dispose of pallets, totes, and boxes and assist with other plant duties assigned by supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate pressing equipment in the post-assembly department
- Operate equipment used to turn pants during post-assembly processes
- Assist the packaging department as needed during production demands
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility including restrooms, offices, conference rooms, and break areas
- Organize and dispose of pallets, totes, and boxes throughout the plant
- Assist with general plant operations and assigned tasks
- Operate a forklift to move materials and equipment when needed
- Assist with machine or equipment reorganization projects
- Support other departments when operational assistance is needed
- Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility or similar environment preferred
- Forklift certification is required
- Ability to communicate clearly and work professionally with coworkers
- Strong teamwork and reliability
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent walking throughout the facility
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently
