Job Details

We are seeking hiring a Warehouse Lead for a client in Fort Smith, AR. This role is responsible for leading an assigned production department or bay to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards. The Warehouse Lead supports daily operations by guiding employees, communicating with management, and helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate equipment, train team members, and lead by example while supporting production goals and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the assigned department or bay meets daily and weekly production schedules and due dates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all employees.
  • Act as a liaison between hourly employees and upper management, addressing concerns and communicating expectations.
  • Communicate work instructions, priorities, and directions to team members verbally and in writing.
  • Train department employees on reading blueprints, production schedules, equipment setup, operation, and part inspection.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards consistently.
  • Monitor and maintain acceptable levels of quality performance within the department.
  • Ensure production processes, parts, and assemblies meet quality specifications.
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Use appropriate measuring and inspection equipment and train employees on proper usage.
  • Collect, analyze, and use data related to quality, productivity, and Material Review Board (MRB) findings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in support of the quality system.
  • Assist with manpower planning, budget awareness, and department-level improvements.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Operate all equipment within the assigned department as needed.
  • Represent the department in production and planning meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate personnel, production, and inventory records.
  • Support and participate in physical inventory counts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience as a team member within the same or similar department.
  • Proven ability to set up and operate department-specific equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production schedules, work orders, and technical documents.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with engineering, quality, management, and other department leaders.
  • Basic leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and guide employees.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to lead by example with dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and professional conduct.
